报告人简介：Dr. Qiu received his B.S. degree in hydraulic engineering from Tsinghua University, P.R.China, in 2000 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in civil engineering with a focus in geotechnical engineering from University of California – Los Angeles in 2002 and 2005, respectively. Prior to joining the faculty at The Pennsylvania State University in 2010, he was a project engineer in southern California and a faculty member at Clarkson University. Dr. Qiu currently serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering and International Journal of Geomechanics, ASCE, secretary and Board member for the United States Universities Council on Geotechnical Education and Research, and secretary for Earthquake Engineering and Soil Dynamics Committee, Geo-Institute, ASCE. Dr. Qiu is a recipient of Excellent Paper Award from International Journal of Geomechanics, ASCE, in 2008 and the Faculty Early Career Development Award (CAREER) from the U.S. National Science Foundation in 2015.
