At 2:28 pm on 12 May , 2008, an earthquake of Ms 8.0 occurred at Wenchuan, Sichuan province, in Southwest China(31.0”ćN ,103.4”ćE) . The earthquake brought tremendous disaster to human beings: about 87,000 people died and missing, and the direct economic loss was about 845.1 billion RMB. A large number of roads, buildings and bridges were seriously damaged. About 12,000 geological hazards were induced and100 barrier lakes formed as a result of the earthquake.
In these three days, delegates will see the influence of the earthquake on the nature, engineering, human, and so on.
